Comprehensive Menopause Consultations at Rokeby GP

Why book a Menopause Assessment?

Menopause is a natural part of life but can provide complexities for women as they navigate changes to their bodies. Whilst also balancing their relationships, careers, and often the demands of caring for a family of all ages.

Women deserve the highest standard of care, and that requires sufficient time for a comprehensive mid-life evaluation. At Rokeby GP our menopause assessments are conducted by our team of expert GPs who have a special interest in menopause.

What Will Be Covered?

Each assessment is tailored to the individual, but may include:

  • Menopause symptoms
  • Lifestyle and nutrition advice
  • Weight management
  • Menopause Hormone Therapy (MHT)
  • Mood and mental health
  • Osteoporosis risk
  • Cancer screening: breast, cervical, and bowel
  • Heart and stroke risk factors
  • Cognitive health, including dementia
  • Family history and hereditary illnesses

Prior to your appointment:

Before your appointment, you’ll receive a questionnaire to complete about your symptoms and concerns—this helps us provide the most relevant and effective care for your individual needs.

How many appointments will I need?
Most menopause assessments require two or more appointments to allow time for a thorough evaluation, discussion of treatment options, and follow-up care. Appointments are charged based on the length of time spent with the GP. Generally, the initial menopause assessment takes 30-minutes, your follow up appointment length will be determined by your GP based on the nuances of your health challenges.

Why should I have this assessment with my regular GP practice?
Completing your menopause assessment with your regular GP practice helps ensure continuity of care. If your regular GP does not have expertise in this area they may refer you to another GP within the practice. This ensures your full health history is considered, and ongoing support is seamless.

Expertise You Can Trust

Rokeby GPs providing our menopause assessments are members of the Australasian Menopause Society (AMS), the leading authority in menopause care across Australia. Our team also participates in ongoing training led by specialist gynaecologists and endocrinologists to ensure we provide the most current and evidence-based care.
